Stronger than blood; a bond that can only be forged by shared midnight hours on the ‘Nights Watch’ over a ‘low-n-slow’ brisket, barbecue brothers-in-law Cory Frayling and Leon Tartaglia stumbled into their gastronomic venture six years ago, prompted by rumbling bellies and a dusty Weber pleading for some TLC.

With self-taught cooking skills, an approach of trial and error, and a taste for culinary experimentation, Cory and Leon developed their brand CheatMeats and began sharing their mouth-watering cooks on social media, hosting catering events and running masterclasses. Their highly engaging creations and light-hearted videos highlighted their love of food and jovial personalities and quickly lured multitudes of hungry followers. CheatMeats’ online audience has grown exponentially, opening their world to professional opportunities and a trove of unique experiences.

Juggling daytime trades, the demands of raising young families, and their barbecuing escapades has become part of everyday life for Leon and Cory.

What began as a passion for barbecue quickly expanded to multiple techniques of indoor and outdoor cooking, including oven-roasting, grilling, and air-frying. Fuelled by their love of good food, Cory and Leon maintain a focus on flavour and quality, proudly showcasing fresh local produce and specialising in beef, pork, and seafood.

With exciting projects in the works, catching the eye of international chefs, and being labelled as the ‘ones to watch’, this is just the beginning for Leon and Cory.
