Schubert Estate
Where it begins…
Schubert Estate is on Roennfeldt Road, Marananga in the Barossa Valley, an area highly regarded for its vineyards. Schubert Estate began in the 1890s when a Schubert family settled on Roennfeldt Road. In the 1980s Schubert Estate began managing the vineyards with the clear intention of working with, rather than against nature, planting the land in proportion of approximately half vineyards and half South Australian native trees, grasses and shrubs—this to ensure a natural corridor for wildlife and a pleasant vista.
The year 2000 saw the introduction of a small winery, in what was once the tractor shed, there Schubert Estate began handcrafting small batches of wine commencing with The Goose-yard Block Shiraz to celebrate the new millennium. Continuing with each new vintage, the Schuberts soon realized the need to establish a second label, and as such, they added The Gosling Shiraz in 2004. Two decades later, subsequently adding more to their portfolio, saw Schubert Estate continuing with their success having won international gold medals and honours, for their wines, as well as proudly displaying James Halliday’s five red-stars.
