Rymill Coonawarra is described as ‘must visit’ by the renowned wine critic James Halliday. The cellar door offers unique and unrivalled views of winemaking and viticulture with our multi-level observation decks. Established in 1974 by Peter Rymill, the great-grandson of Coonawarra’s founder, John Riddoch. Our estate vineyards sit on an ancient coastline, approximately one million years old, where the limestone is covered in a precious layer of terra rossa soil. The combination of Coonawarra’s unique soil and long cool ripening season is perfect for grape growing. The region is internationally renowned for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Our winemaking is focused on handcrafted wines. The team selectively harvests the vineyards to capture the highest quality grape parcels. And with careful attention to detail small batch winemaking, they can preserve this quality through to bottling. Rymill is committed to sustainability, ensuring the next generation will also enjoy the beauty of Coonawarra.
