Planted in 1995, Glenhope Vineyard is an undulating site in Victoria’s cool climate Macedon Ranges. This 94-acre grower vineyard sits at 450 to 485 metres altitude on granite, sandy loam, and volcanic soils in the region’s northeast. It grows Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz, sought-after by local wine icons, including Dhillon, ECK Wines, Joshua Cooper Wines, Kyneton Ridge, Latta Vino, and Silent Way.
James & Marlin Gevergizian bought the property in 2021, retaining Vigneron Scott Harrington, who had managed viticulture since 2018 with a minimalist, sustainable approach. They’ve since won 2023 Macedon Ranges Vigneron Association’s Wine Exhibition Trophy for Best Red (Other than Pinot Noir) and Trophy for Best Winery in Show. And a 2023 Finalist spot in Young Gun of Wine’s 4th Annual Vineyard of the Year Awards. As well as Gold at the 2023 The Australian Single Vineyard Wine Show and 95-points from Huon Hooke.
