Australian Eggs return once more to the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show for 2025 — and this year, we’re shaking things up at the Flip It Cooking Stage with our new egg-citing talent, Tom Smallwood!

Join social media sensation Tom for a 30-minute cooking demo as he whips up a mouth-watering Spanish-inspired dish, Chorizo Baked Eggs with Potatoes.

Tom is an Australian content creator and influencer who appeared briefly on MasterChef Australia. Tom is known for his trending recipe videos across social media, sharing cooking content and behind-the-scenes glimpses of his life.

But before he hits the stage, we asked him a few questions to get to know him (and his egg-y preferences) a little better…

Let’s crack in! 🍳

Q: What’s your favourite dish with eggs?

A: Creme Brûlée

Q: How do you like your eggs?

A: Scrambled and cooked in butter

Q: What’s your go-to 10-minute-or-less meal when you’re strapped for time?

A: I eat the most basic food when I’m not filming, so when I’ve got less than 10 minutes, it’s gotta be a plain and simple Vegemite and cheese sambo

Q: What’s your favourite cooking hack or tip for all the lazy cooks out there?

A: Pre-boil eggs and keep them in the fridge for an easy snack

Q: For all the frugal cooks, what are some tips for saving on supermarket shops?

A: Check the apps! Specials are always posted there, and have a plan of everything you need before you get there or you’ll end up buying more than you want

Q: If you’re hosting a few friends, what’s an inexpensive, versatile, crowd-pleasing dish that you suggest cooking?

A: Pasta! A tomato-based pasta sauce + any/no protein can be so simple but also incredibly tasty

Q: What’s your go-to meal when you’re in saving mode?

A: Instant ramen with some chicken breast. I believe the chicken breast cancels out all the sodium from the noodles…

Q: What is something people would never guess just by looking at you?

A: I am still learning how to cook! People might think that because I make cooking content that I know everything, but it’s quite the opposite; I try to learn new things as often as possible

Now that you know a bit more about Tom, it’s time to see him in action! Join him and the Australian Eggs team at the Flip It Cooking Stage this June for an eggs-cellent day out.

We can’t wait to see you there! Get your tickets here.
