Adriano Zumbo

One of Australia’s most celebrated patissiers, Adriano Zumbo is known as the ‘Sweet Assassin’. He nine stores throughout NSW and VIC and is the author of three best-selling cookbooks, the latest of which contains 50 recipes exploring unique flavour combinations alongside exciting textures and bold colours. His appearance on the first series of MasterChef Australia helped introduce the croquembouche to a wide audience and made him – and macarons – a household name. Adriano has competed in several prominent international competitions, and his love affair with confectionery combined with his Parisian training has resulted in a sensibility as delicious as it is irreverent.

A much-loved chef and TV personality, Alastair was born in Ireland, classically trained in Europe, and has chosen to make Brisbane his home. His experience in the kitchen is extensive; he’s worked at Michelin-listed, high-profile and fine dining restaurants across the world. Alastair regularly writes for Brisbane News, presents on Channel Seven’s Queensland Weekender and Network TEN’s Ready Steady Cook, and he is frequently heard on ABC Radio. He recently launched Al’FreshCo, a catering company. Alistair is an ardent supporter of all things local, believing the closer you are to the source of your food the better it will taste and the smaller the carbon footprint you will create.

Presenter of Junior MasterChef & the Great Australian Bake Off, author of two well-received cookbooks, and designer of a retro kitchen range, Anna is passionate about sharing her skill and knowledge of fresh, simple food made from scratch. His philosophies encompass a balanced and healthy outlook on life, along with a joy of preparing, sharing and eating great food. He has authored 4 books, written food magazines and food columns, starred in 3 TV series and is about to launch his new series Far Flung with Gary Mehigan. The ultimate food tourist who loves to travel, unearth the best of the countries he visits, and indulge in his love of motorbikes along the way.

Kirrily Waldhorn

Kirrily, aka Beer Diva, has spent 15 years working in beer. She has appeared on radio, TV, press and on stage at the Sydney Opera House, talking about everything from the ancient history of beer to beer gastronomy and busting beer myths (and there are plenty of those). She has trained at Ballarat University in Brewing & Malting, and judged at The Australian International Beer Awards and the Great British Beer Festival in London. Her company, Beer Diva, has hosted over 500 corporate and public events and also runs a bar staff training program. She is the Editor of BeerStyle.com.au and also the Vice President of Australia’s Pink Boots Society, supporting women in the beer industry.

Nick Haddow

Founder of Bruny Island Cheese Co., Nick will be co-presenting the cheese masterclasses. Widely regarded as one of the best cheese makers in Australia, he is also an author, educator, media presenter and cheese judge. He has won many fellowships, awards and grants, including a Churchill Fellowship; is a regular judge at the British, New Zealand and Hobart Cheese Awards; and co-stars in the television show Gourmet Farmer. Nick is passionate about the importance of fostering artisan food and preserving the traditions of food and how it is made.

Miguel Maestre

Having worked for many years in various kitchens around the world, Miguel Maestre is one talented Spaniard who has made Sydney his home. At 27, he was the head chef of ‘Number One’, for the godfather of Australian cuisine Tony Bilson. After meeting Ferran Adria from the best restaurant in the world ‘El Bulli’, he opened the biggest Spanish restaurant in Australia – ‘El Toro Loco’. TV appearances include TEN’s The Living Room, Boys Weekend, and Miguel’s feasts. He is also the author of two best-selling Spanish cookbooks.

Peter Nixon

Peter Nixon

Peter is the National Fine Wine Manager for Dan Murphy’s and has over 22 years’ experience in the wine and hospitality industry. This has included local and international wine show-judging, independent wine retailing, imported wine wholesaling, restaurant wine list design and training, and commercial procurement experience with both hotel groups and airlines. Born in London to parents of Australasian heritage, he became fascinated by the London wine trade after attending secondary school in England; family holidays to great European wine regions further developed this interest. Peter later studied wine marketing and also trained as a chef. Peter leads the Dan Murphy’s Wine Panel and is passionate about sharing his knowledge of wine.

Rebecca Sullivan

Rebecca Sullivan

The Australian called Rebecca Sullivan "a veritable modern day Mrs Beeton." But this perhaps downplays the scope of her work as a writer, cook, TV host, sustainability advocate, food curator, aspiring farmer and social entrepreneur. Her global career in food has taken her from launching the Real Food Festival in London to working on Slow Food Nation in San Francisco, farming coffee in Uganda to teaching scientists the art of communications in the Maldives for the United Nations. 2016 is a busy year for the multi talented Sullivan with the launch of wellbeing brand Warndu which champions Australian Native food with her Aboriginal partner Damien (which in his language means to ‘Feel Good’). Brew and Broth their Aussie bone broth bar opens in September and she is also writing her second book Frugal a follow up to her first book and her third book, Cook and the Farmer, which documents farming life across Australia. Sam is a young social entrepreneur who after travelling the world with the intention of living a nomadic life, found his true passion for gut health in Guatemala South America. It was there that he learnt the art of fermentation and decided to make it his business. When he got back to his home Adelaide he founded Gut Feeling with his mother Angie, a healer, remedial therapist and nutritionist. Gut Feeling specializes in raw krauts, vinegars, drinks & other pro-biotic rich goodies to give you that good "Gut Feeling" using local, organic ingredients. Sam runs regular Fermentation classes in Adelaide and around Australia.
