Sprouting or making sprouts at home is becoming more and more popular. Try your hand at the new craze this winter and let us know how you get on!

  • Organic lentils are best to use for sprouting, take 1/2 cup of organic Baby Red Lentils and completely cover with rainwater and leave to soak overnight.
  • The next day, drain the lentils and put into a hemp sprouting bag.
  • Run rainwater or filtered water through the lentils and the bag over the sink. You only need to run the water through the lentils for 30 seconds, just to rinse them and hydrate them. Hang your sprouting bag over your sink and leave at room temperature.
  • The next morning, rinse again, letting the water run through the lentils and the bag.
  • Continue rinsing the lentils and hanging the bag up each day until the lentils have grown sprouts about 2 cm long. You can store the sprouts in the fridge in your sprouting bag. Just pull the top of the bag together using the draw string. Your sprouts will keep in the fridge for about 5 days. If the bag completely dries out, simply run a little more water through it to dampen it again.
